Dragon Ball FighterZ is coming to Nintendo Switch in September, and Bandai Namco is getting fans ready for its launch with an open beta . Gamespot is reporting that the client download became available for pre-loading on January 12th, but the Dragon Ball FighterZ beta didn't open for those who pre-ordered until midnight, January. The Dragon Ball FighterZ Switch open beta roster will likely include the characters available by default, not the DLC fighters or Android 21, who is unlocked through the story mode.
As for game modes, players will have access to the Battle Tutorial to learn techniques and combos. The VS Online mode will let players face off online and enjoy the game's Lobby, where they'll be able to customize their Avatar and Stamps, as well as watch the Replay Channel of other people's matches.
HOW TO DOWNLOAD OPEN BETA
The Dragon Ball FighterZ Nintendo Switch open beta client is available to download before it begins on Aug. 9. To download the open beta, simply have go to the Nintendo eShop and search for the game.
START TIME AND END TIME
Nintendo will unlock the Dragon Ball FighterZ open beta on Aug. 9 at 9 p.m. PDT (that's Aug. 10 at midnight for those on the East Coast.) It will be available until Aug. 12 at 2:59 am EDT.
Dragon Ball FighterZ for Nintendo Switch will release on Sept. 28.

Dragon Ball FighterZ which was initially announced for the Switch in June, is now set for a release on September 28, 2018. In a tweet from Bandai Namco UK earlier today, however, it has been announced that there will be an open beta to try out in the meantime.

Based on the promotional material, it can be surmised that this open beta will be handled much like a free weekend between August 10 and 12. Players will be able to preload the beta client today in anticipation of the event going live later in the month. Players will be able to select 23 characters from within the game during this testing phase.
Although the character list for this beta has not been revealed, last month it was announced that base Goku and Vegeta would be added to the game at a similar time. Perhaps this beta phase could also be used to as a balance check for these new characters before the official Switch launch in September. Either way, fans are sure to be excited to see how well FighterZ plays on handheld.
